Sniffles, Moo's and Milestones

I have a bad head cold and I only got about two hours of sleep last night but I am trying to make the best of the day. We picked up the house and ate lunch and I decided to go ahead and start Claire's school lesson instead of waiting until Monday. This week the lesson is about cows. So we talked about cows, their babies and their four stomachs. Then we started to memorize a little poem.

The Friendly Cow by Robert Louis Stevenson

The friendly cow, all red and white,
I love with all my heart;
She gives me cream, with all her might
To eat with apple tart.

She wanders lowing here and there,
And yet she cannot stray,
All in the pleasant open air,
The pleasant light of day.

She walks among the meadow grass

Jason and I celebrate our 6th anniversary today. It's pretty amazing and unbelievable, and yet I cannot imagine it any other way. What was life before? I have no idea. This is so normal and satisfying.

It's almost my anniversary!

Christmas is over which means that New Year's is almost here which means that right after that I will have been married 5 years. Such a short time and yet such a long, long time. So much can happen in 5 years. 3 babies can happen in 5 years. 3 homes can happen in 5 years.  2 complete sets of dishes can happen in 5 years.

We are still enjoying our family here in Tennessee. The girls have moments of being overstimulated and super cranky but overall are having a wonderful week.

I can't believed it snowed at home. Snow must hate me. It never wants to be where I am. :(

Happy Anniversary

Back when I wrote this post I was so impressed with myself because it was the first post that I had written that was more than a sentence long that didn't have one single picture in it. I thought it was the longest worded post in the history of the world. I really felt that I had accomplished something fantastic. Now, after posts like this and this, it feels rather obviously short. Life changes. I change. My brain seems to change. (For the worst I'm afraid.) My blogging has changed. I think for the better. I hope for the better. The first year that I blogged, I posted 19 times. So far this year I've posted 171 times.

Thanks for sticking with me for the last 3 years. It's been fun. And random.

After writing this entire post, I decided to look and see what day I actually started this old thing. Turns out it was this month. Turns out it was was exactly a week ago this month in 2006. I had no idea. That's kind of cool!
