Elaina's New Bike

We had decided that Elaina had outgrown her bike and Claire had most assuredly outgrown the other bikes. There was a sale going on at Toys 'R Us so we went ahead and purchased the new bike thinking it would be well received. It was well received but it isn't well ridden. I take that back. It is ridden by everyone except Elaina. She is scared to death by the height and the fact that the training wheels let it lean a little from side to side. Claire will take off on that thing. On the bright side, the bike she had before, the one that she wouldn't touch b/c it was too high, is now her favorite thing to ride. Next we'll be buying a tractor so that she will ride the new bike.

Some Facts.

I hurt. Everywhere. I did a kickboxing class yesterday and I am feeling it all over the place. I didn't really like kickboxing and I don't think that I'll do it again but apparently it does work your body. Even the bottom of my feet are sore.

Eily is so clingy. Too clingy. But I sitll love her.

Claire got a new haircut. She looks a lot better.
Eily did not. She does not.

I have loads and loads of laundry to do and I don't want to do them because my neck is stiff and sore.

Our church meeting is this weekend. :)

I got a pedicure in TN a couple of weeks ago and the color exactly matches my new shirt from Anthropologie. Who'd a thunk?

Life can be hard sometimes. It's amazing how much you can hurt for a friend/friends.

Elaina was sobbing earlier because she didn't want me to tell Jason that she had gotten in trouble for saying boo to Claire after Claire had asked her to stop several times. She didn't say anything about not telling you.

Eily could easily be potty trained right now but I'm too lazy to do it. I'm going to wait until May. There is just too much going on this month. I can't be consistent unless we are home a lot.

I love the smell of Jason's deoderant.

I want to nap but feel guilty about the dirty laundry. Apparently being on the computer is a nice medium. I don't understand myself.

That ol' grass

The back yard and I have a contest going on. Or maybe it's me and the mower. Or maybe they are both working together to make it IMPOSSIBLE for me to get both the front and the back yard mowed in the same day. Today I got the side yard and the front yard mowed. Eily was down for what was destined to be a long nap and I was bound and determined to get the back jungle mowed. Last week I got one third of it mowed before the rain started in. So now the other negelected two thirds of the yard is actually knee high... or is it knee deep? I started in on the same patch that I got to mow last week and before I could even get that little part finished, I ran out of gas. I couldn't go get more gas because I would have to wake Eily up and then if she was awake I wouldn't be able to mow. The verb tense in this paragraph is all over the place. So, once again, the jungle remains. Once Jason got home I sent him for more gas and I went out to mow for the 30 minutes of daylight that was left and the silly mower wouldn't start.

Maybe tomorrow. Or maybe not.

I am not ashamed.

You know why? Because instead of just picking up the house I decided to deep clean the booger. So I did. I also got the laundry washed but not folded and put away but I'm close to getting that one taken care of. And...I organized a lot of my coupons. I still have a lot more to organize but I am about to start on that in just a few minutes.

And I played outside with the girls.

And that is why I am not ashamed.

For Bebe "Food and a poem"

I know these videos are a little boring but I wanted to show them to my MIL and I can't get them loaded on any other site.

Tuesday, April 14, 2009

I know you are tired of this but I really need the motivation right now and since it is my blog, what I want to do, I will do!

Tomorrow's List:

1. The usual. Pick up entire house.

2. Do all laundry. This is not optional. It must be folded and put away before I can cross it out.

3. Vacuum.

4. Make Claire's bed.

5. Clean out van

You can tell I'm a parent

It finally happened! I finally got to order our new stroller. Introducing the Joovy Big Caboose.
(I would put a picture here but I can't get it to cooperate. Just look at the link.) I am very excited about this purchase. We have a wonderful stroller now. It has served us well but it is now time for it to belong to a new family and help them create many wonderful memories. Specifically, my sister Rachel and her two little boys.
This new stroller has two normal stroller seats and then in the back it has a sit-n-stand seat for Elaina. That way, it has three spots for three children but it doesn't have the length or width that a normal triple stroller has. Good grief. I cannot believe that I need a triple stroller. Anyways...

We got the red one. And ya know what I've been saying around here? Groovy, Joovy!

11 Months and Counting...

Jason:

Still doing school. Still painting. Still cute.
He won me a Kitchen Aid mixer off the Pioneer Woman blog. I picked the yellow one. I'm SO EXCITED!!!!!!

Rebekah:

When I read that Jason won the mixer I started screaming and jumping up and down. Elaina thought I had lost it. And I had.

Elaina:

Elaina is desperate to be big so that she can blow bubbles with her gum, snap her fingers, and roller skate. If only that was all that was involved in "being big." Her reading lessons are going well. There is a video of her reading on Facebook you can watch if you are my friend. Last night after her bath, Jason noticed that her neck looked strange and we checked and there were two substantially large, hard as rock knots on the side of her neck. Her hair was covering it before and we never noticed it. I took her to the ER and it ended up being strep throat which is really bizarre because she has no symptoms. Other than the neck deformity.

Claire:

She's getting better. Sweeter. Nicer. Except today at Eily's dr appointment. Then, she was downright embarrassing. Her hair seems to have finally decided to grow and looks somewhat like a little bob. Her biggest desire right now is candy. Please, no one send/give us anymore candy.

Eily:

Eily woke up with a low fever this morning. Normally that wouldn't send me to the dr's office but since Elaina has strep throat I figured I'd better not take any chances. She doesn't have strep but she does have another double ear infection. This makes her 5th round in her short life. Poor baby. We go to the chiro again tomorrow so maybe that will make a difference.

Jason and I leave for DC in a few weeks.
Our 2nd shed is still not built. Will it ever be dry enough for that man to come build it????
We're staying busy and dreaming of lazy summer days.
I'm planning on taking the girls to Harmony Hill this June.

How about you? What's your summer plans? Anyone traveling? Anyone doing summer school? Do tell all.
April Fool's. :)

Guess what I just did!

I walked outside to put some mail in the mailbox and on the way back in noticed a weed that needed to be pulled out of the front flower bed. And then another and then another. Before I knew it I was pulling weeds and throwing out leaves like a mad woman. Once that was finished, the grass looked extra pitiful so I got out the mower, lowered it to the lowest setting so that I don't have to do it again tomorrow, and mowed the front and side yards. Then I walked to the backyard and decided I wanted the swing set turned another direction and twisted the entire thing by myself. (Bravo to me. We have the world's longest swing set. It was not easy.) I then thought about mowing the backyard but the girls are out there playing now and I need to be in here to listen for Eily, Renee and Natalie. So I guess I won't. I guess I will do something else. And that will probably lead to something else, that will lead to something else, that will lead to....

One of my favs

This video is our exercise video. It makes me so happy to watch it. The conductor is so smiley, all the umbrellas bounce up and down to the music and the oboe(?) player's face is so red it looks like it's going to explode. Do yourself a favor and watch. It starts out slow but at 2 minutes and 31 seconds it gets good.
(The music is off sync from the actions and some times that is a little aggravating but just work through your irritation. It's worth it.)

I think it's list time again

I need some motivation this morning. I am weary and dreary. So, I am going to post another list of what I want to get accomplished this morning so that I will be shamed if I don't get to strikeout each and every item.

Item number one...

Pick up house. This is the major item on my list. It is bad, bad, bad here.

Item number two...

Get the checkbook caught up...again.

Item number three...

Clean this computer screen. My goodness! I can't even see some of the words that I hope I am spelling correctly.

Item number four... (this is my optional item)

Get all coupons clipped and updated.

Item number five...

Do a load of laundry. There should be enough dirty laundry for just that! :)

Get ready for the fundraiser tonight at the Art Center!!

I'm so behind

and I don't want to catch up.

Supper looked pretty,

So I grabbed my camera and took a few shots.

Oo da la li!

Come to mommy. After you cook, of course. Although you might be pretty tasty raw.

Another favorite waiting to be steamed up right nice.

She is so tired. And dirty.

Did I let her eat with those nasty hands? I sure did.
As Jason put it, "Supper, Benadryl, Bath, Bed."

What? How did this picture sneak in? (yum)

Parmesan Talipia. One of Jason's top ten meals.

(This is the uncooked picture in case you were about to start grossing out.)

I'm in food heaven.

The flowers the girls picked for me yesterday afternoon served as our table decoration.

She loves it, too!

Tomorrow's List

I like making lists. I am a list person. I married a list person. Together, we will live happily ever after making lists. When I posted what I wanted to accomplish last weekend I felt strangely accountable to you followers. I felt that if I didn't accomplish those things, or at least most of those things you would all realize what a lazy bum I am and cross me off your list.

So I am posting another list stating what I want to accomplish tomorrow. March 18. (This "getting done" is subject to Eily letting me put her down while she is awake. The little tyke is worse than I've ever seen her. Her eyes won't open all the way and they are red rimmed and puffy. Her nose is full of yuck and she ran a fever all day. I took her to the Dr again and her ear infection was still bad so they switched her medicine. Yesterday she threw up twice.) (Oh yeah, and it hinges on whether or not Rachel goes into labor.)

-(so far) Once again let the little beings in the house continue to live. There will be 5 here tomorrow.

- Finally sweep and mop that dadgum kitchen floor.

-Do what laundry we have accumulated in the past two days and put it away.

- Sort the ironing into piles that are not too intimidating and become determined to actually iron them one day.

- Keep the house picked up

- Wash the sheets and re-make Claire's bed

- Mow side yard and 1/2 of back yard

That's all. But I'd say it will take me all day to do between breaking up the fights that always occur when I babysit (and when I don't babysit) and Eily needing her Mommy.

BTW, If you ask Eily where her nose is she points to it and squirms her finger all around. So cute!

10:34 pm

Well, I didn't get it all done. I could have but I got the brilliant idea to go on a date with J-poo and called up 'ol Uncle Josh to Elaina sit. (Claire and Eily were already asleep.) So now that we are home I have lost all steam and have decided to go crawl under the covers and give up a snore or two. I did get all but one counter space in the corner of the kitchen and the kitchen floor cleaned before the entire house would be considered finished. (Is that sentence grammered ;-) correctly?) I can do that easily tomorrow and I can fold the mountain of laundry on the couch and I can sweep the front walk. Oh yeah, and do the checkbook and wrap the gifts.

In the morning, Kathryn is going to go to a Zumba class with me. I'm very excited to have someone to look goofy with in this class. It's going to be so much fun!!!

Claire has a very, super duper sore throat and an ear infection and Eily has two horrible ear infections but they seem to be feeling much better now that they have had a few doses of "that tasty pink medicine." Claire Bear

I am heading off to bed now. I cannot wait to see all of my far off family this weekend!!!!!
Hooray for Family Day!!!!!!!

P.S. Caitlin, you should feel special. All of this house cleaning is just for you. !!

Ho Hum

We were supposed to go to Hot Springs today for their annual meeting. We were at my parent's house because we were supposed to stay the night with them and leave this morning at 6. I had all the clothes laid out in separate piles. I had Eily bathed, fed and down for the night. I had Claire eating supper, her and Elaina's pj's ready for after their baths and I had everything that could already be loaded put in the van. I had reinstalled Claire's car seat in the backseat. I had baked cookies to take to help with the food and made sure and put them in the van.

And Elaina ran a 103.7 fever.

So now we are here. At home. Tired. Lazy. And pretty cranky. Elaina seems fine today. Except for the cranky part. Claire is ornery. Eily is asleep. And I am wanting to go crawl under the covers and take a long, long nap.
