Under the Things That I Want to Remember category

Eily adds an "n" to a lot of her words. She says, "Claire sleepin' in the darkin'. She also says, I'm stuckin,' instead of I'm stuck.

It was really more of a you-had-to-be-there type of moment.

I was getting the bath ready for the girls and non-clothed Claire came up beside me. I said, "Claire, you smell like urine."
Elaina: "What's urine?
Me: "Pee-pee."
Elaina: "Oh. Well I just urined there." (pointing to the toilet.)

I laughed.

Just a quick hello

So sorry to have left you all for such a long time. I have been flitting about, here and there and actually getting things accomplished which feels wonderful!

I have started the girls on a chore list and I don't know why I didn't start this years ago. In the mornings, we eat, get dressed, have devotions and then the girls start on their chores. This usually takes most of the morning which means there are zero messes made before lunch. Quite the opposite, in fact. And because the girls clean the rooms they don't mess them up. They get out a toy or two and are satisfied with that for quite a while. While they are doing their chores, I do mine so by lunch time the entire house is cleaned and the laundry is started, if not finished.

Today, we made banana bread. The top is dark and the inside is gooey. Any tips? Is the a common problem for banana bread or is it just us? Both loaves did this.

Time to prepare for my show tonight. Have a lovely afternoon!

And another one that will probably not come across as I want it to.

Sometimes I miss ignorance. While I was showering this morning I was trying to decide if I should use the paraben-free Arbonne body wash or use the paraben-full Bath and Body Works body wash that I got for free with coupons a while back. I can't stand to not finish a bottle but I have a hard time using it now that I know what is in it. I don't want to be unaware of things that are harmful to my body but for some reason, this morning I just wanted to forget. I wanted to go back to college where I loved the body products that I was using b/c I really felt like I was benefiting my body and doing what was best for it. (I don't have a clue what those things were now but I'm sure they were full of parabens.) I'm not saying that I don't want to know or don't care. I'm glad that I'm learning about what is best for me but for some reason, unexplainable even to myself, I guess I wanted to be ignorant. To feel innocent. To feel young. And somehow, in that moment, all those things were related.

See? That made no sense, did it?
----------------------------------------------------------
Elaina just walked in here and said, "Mommy? Don't you want to start calling me something else because I'm bored of Elaina."

Me: "Like Twig?" (That's what Jason calls her all the time.)

Her: "No... Maybe you could call me Cutie. Cutie Elaina. I like that."

Heggs. Heggs. I've always wondered. Now I know. Thanks. I had a feeling it was wrong but couldn't come up with what I thought was right.

Let me clarify this or... Luther Hauges wouldn't write a retraction but I will. (sort of)

Fact: If it weren't for Aunt Melissa this blog would have a dumb title.

Fact: if it weren't for Aunt Melissa, I would only know of green beans and corn.

Fact: I love to see Aunt Melissa. Always. Period.

Fact: I'm glad that she makes me aware that my children need haircuts b/c usually I am completely unaware and once it is pointed out I am embarassed that I hadn't noticed it on my own.

Fact: She'd better keep reminding me b/c otherwise they might start to look awful.

Fact: They currently look awful. (I am happy to say that I did notice Claire's stringyness on my own. First time for me!)

Fact: Aunt Melissa is one of My Favorites.

Fact:: I did not do a good job typing that last post. It didn't come across as I was meaning it to come across.

Fact: I got it at Belsons. $3.95.

Fact: I had to check and make sure I typed the correct price. I did. I don't know why I ever doubt myself when it comes to that movie. I should know I'm an expert.

Fact: I'm an expert when it comes to The Ghost and Mr. Chicken.

Peace and Love. Peace and Love.

Today started out great, got really, really rough and is ,thankfully, very pleasant again. After Eily woke up from her nap we all migrated into the playroom to build towers and puzzles. Love, love, love it.

It's almost time for the extended Family Day! Woo Hoo!! This means that I am about to see Aunt Melissa which means that I am about to be made aware that Eily's hair needs a trim. This always happens right when her hair becomes long enough to put into a ponytail or even better, pig tails. But despite the tails, it is true. She's looking a little shaggy.
